Only spots of subdued color remain in the landscape now, as the brightest red and orange leaves have long since dropped from branches and lie in piles of rust and brown. November definitely gives a new look — that of pending winter, of which residents will get a taste this weekend, with a few inches of the sometimes-dreaded snow in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.
