Swallow Falls State Park
Swallow Falls State Park is located 9 miles northwest of Oakland, Maryland. Spanning over 257 acres, the park’s greatest feature are the beautiful rapids coming off the Youghiogheny River. One of the waterfalls, Muddy Creek Falls, is Maryland’s highest waterfall. 65 different campsites are available as well as many hiking trails.
Swallow Falls is a must see at any season!!

New Germany State Park
New Germany State Park is a 455-acre park 5 miles south of Grantsville, Maryland. The park features a 13-acre lake, log cabin rentals, and hiking trials. This park attracts many people looking to fish or hike. In the winter, many people use the trails to snowshoe and cross-county ski.

Herrington Manor State Park
Herrington Manor State Park is located 4 miles northwest of Oakland, Maryland. Spanning over 365 acres, the park offers a 53 acre lake, hiking trails, and kayak and log cabin rentals. In the summer, many people can be caught swimming at the lake or hiking the trails. In the winter, many use the trails to cross-country ski.

Deep Creek Lake State Park
Spanning over 1,800 acres near McHenry, Maryland is Deep Creek Lake State Park. Located on the east side of the lake, Deep Creek Lake State Park offers one mile of shoreline for swimmers and water enthusiasts. Deep Creek Lake State Park offers fun for all four seasons. In the summer, this is a perfect place to swim at the lake. In the spring and fall, there is no better place to talk a walk in the woods. In the winter, these walking paths are perfect for some snowmobile fun. The possibilities are endless!

Casselman River Bridge State Park
Casselman River Bridge State Park is located near Grantsville, Maryland on historic National Road (Route 40). The park spans four acres. It is known for it’s stone bridge, which was one of a kind when it was built in 1813. This park is perfect for anglers, history nuts, and kids. Spruce Forest Artisan Village and Penn Alps Restaurant and Craft Shop are located next to the park.

Big Run State Park starts at the mouth of Savage River Reservoir. The 300 acre state park is surrounded by the Savage River State Forest.

39th Annual Grantsville Days
The 39th Annual Grantsville Days will take place from June 24-26. Throughout the weekend, there will be events and vendors all over town. The parade will be Friday, fireworks Friday and Saturday, tractor pulls Saturday, and truck pulls Sunday.
The Grantsville chapter of the Lions Club will be sponsoring the event. Their infamous kettle corn and BBQ chicken will be on sale all weekend!

Spruce Forest Artisan Village Family Day
Spruce Forest Artisan Village, located in Grantsville, Maryland near Casselman River Bridge State Park, is inviting anyone and everyone to Family Day! On June 11, the village will be filled with fun, crafts, and hands-on-experience for your family.
