4th Annual Deep Creek Lake Boat Parade

The Deep Creek Lake Lions Club will be hosting the 4th Annual Deep Creek Lake Boat Parade on July 2nd! Starting around 7 p.m., the boats will begin at the Deep Creek Marina Lakeside Club (in McHenry Cove) and sail to Silver Tree.

 

This event cannot be missed! Whether you are planning to view the boat parade or register your boat to be in it, it will be a great time. The Boardwalk, Lakeside Creamery, Uno’s & the Honi-Honi Bar are just a few fun places to view the event.

Fire on the Mountain

If you are lucky enough to be in town for the 4th of July, head to McHenry to see the Fire on the Mountain fireworks display! Set off above Marsh Mountain at Wisp Resort, the display can best be seen from a boat in the McHenry Cove or right here at Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales!

The fireworks are set to start at 9:30 p.m. If it is a rainy night, no worries! Fire on the Mountain will have a rain date on July 5th, just in case!

 

 

Savage River State Forest

Savage River State Forest is the largest state forest in the state of Maryland! With  54,000 acres of classified northern hardwood forest, there is plenty to do.

Whether it is biking, camping, canoeing, or hiking, there is always something to do.

You can even bring your pets, as long as they are on a leash!

Casselman River Bridge State Park

Casselman River Bridge State Park is located near Grantsville, Maryland on historic National Road (Route 40). The park spans four acres. It is known for it’s stone bridge, which was one of a kind when it was built in 1813. This park is perfect for anglers, history nuts, and kids. Spruce Forest Artisan Village and Penn Alps Restaurant and Craft Shop are located next to the park.

Swallow Falls State Park

Swallow Falls State Park is located 9 miles northwest of Oakland, Maryland. Spanning over 257 acres, the park’s greatest feature are the beautiful rapids coming off the Youghiogheny River. One of the waterfalls, Muddy Creek Falls, is Maryland’s highest waterfall. 65 different campsites are available as well as many hiking trails.

Swallow Falls is a must see at any season!!

Herrington Manor State Park

Herrington Manor State Park is located 4 miles northwest of Oakland, Maryland. Spanning over 365 acres, the park offers a 53 acre lake, hiking trails, and kayak and log cabin rentals. In the summer, many people can be caught swimming at the lake or hiking the trails. In the winter, many use the trails to cross-country ski.

New Germany State Park

New Germany State Park is a 455-acre park 5 miles south of Grantsville, Maryland. The park features a 13-acre lake, log cabin rentals, and hiking trials. This park attracts many people looking to fish or hike. In the winter, many people use the trails to snowshoe and cross-county ski.
