Nurse at Garrett Regional Medical Center Receives National Board Certification in Surgical Services Management
Garrett Regional Medical Center announced that Elaine D. Geroski, RN, BSN, CNOR , has earned the CSSM® certification and is now 1 of the 97 nurses to hold the credential.
Elaine is in the Senior Director of Surgical Services, which encompasses the operating room, the post-anesthesia recovery room, the outpatient surgery department and central service department. Elaine is currently working on her master’s of science in nursing with a specialization in leadership and also has a certification in the operating room, CNOR. Elaine serves on the board of directors for her local chapter of the Association of Perioperative Nurses (AORN) and will serve as a delegate at the 2016 AORN Surgical Conference and Expo.
Certification recognizes a nurse’s commitment to professional development. It is an objective, measurable way of acknowledging the achievement of specialty knowledge beyond basic nursing licensure.
