The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has awarded accreditation to Garrett Regional Medical Center Hospital Laboratory, based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP’s Accreditation Programs. This is the first time in the history of the hospital that this accreditation has been established for the medical center.
The facility’s new medical director, David M. Howell, MD, PhD, is a pathologist with a faculty appointment with WVU Medicine and is now contracted to be the physician director for GRMCs Laboratory. He was advised of this national recognition and congratulated the staff for the excellent services being provided. Garrett Regional Medical Center Laboratory is one of more than 7,700 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide and extends great appreciation to pathologist, David Dusenbery MD, for his significant contributions and assistance to bring the accreditation about.
