The Garrett County Humane Society’s Dog-Gone FUNdraiser will be held on Saturday, July 13, at the Garrett County Fairgrounds starting at 10 a.m.
“This annual event offers free admission to a day of fun events to help our local volunteer organization raise the funds we need to continue to help homeless and neglected animals in Garrett County,” said GCHS president Lisa Baker.
Activities will include the Benefit Dog Walk; Canine Costume Contest, Meet the Breed; two special dog demonstrations and a large silent auction.
A snack bar will be available and raffle tickets with three cash prizes will be for sale until the drawings at 2:30 p.m.
The first 100 people to attend will receive a free “goodie” bag and there will be a small cash-and-carry gift corner.
The silent auction will include gift items for bidders, including restaurant/store gift certificates and Pittsburgh Zoo, Carnegie Natural History Museum and Phipps Conservatory tickets. Bids will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
A new event added last year is a small live auction slated for 2:00 p.m. A Washington Capitals hockey puck, a Steelers Troy Polamalu print and a Baltimore Orioles print are among the items are available.
Little Wonders Petting Zoo will be on site with various creatures for you to meet and Pleasant Valley Grooming will be offering nail trims for a small donation.
