Teenage robotics experts from both Northern and Southern high schools combined forces to compete on the global stage last weekend at St. Louis, Mo., where they were rewarded with the 2011 Championship’s Engineering Inspiration (EI) Award. This honor recognizes a team’s success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within its school and community. A team spokesperson said this is the second most prestigious honor awarded any team at the world event, putting the Garrett County teenagers ahead of more than 350 teams from the USA, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia.
