Gary L. Hardesty, Oakland, received four awards during last week’s Invention & New Product Exposition (INPEX show) at the Monroeville Convention Center in Monroeville, Pa. INPEX is billed as America’s largest inventor trade show, where new inventions and product ideas from around the world come to be judged by an international panel of experts.
Hardesty is owner of Garrett Innovations, a new product development company that represented one of his latest patent-pending tools, the Mat Lite, a hands-free work light that illuminates the entire bottom of a car on an auto lift.
At an awards dinner and ceremony Friday night, Hardesty was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the 2010 INPEX Inventors University, two Awards of Excellence from the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, and the Gold Medal for Innovation Excellence in Automotive Tools from INPEX.
Thirty-five products in the automotive categories competed for gold and Bosch awards, with the top three earning awards. Inventors from across the United States and 14 countries – including Germany, Korea, China, and Taiwan – traveled to Pennsylvania to compete, according to event organizers.
