A sure sign of spring is the arrival of various young wildlife babies throughout the forests and in the fields. Jessica Capan was horseback riding along Herrington Manor Road recently and caught sight of this spotted youngster lying low in the grass, and unlike most “children,” he remained perfectly still for the taking of this photograph. With the arrival of summer this week, most of the spots on baby deer are beginning to fade, but as always, motorists should remain alert for the road crossings of deer, bear, ground hogs, and a host of other critters.
