Garrett County praised for clean air
The 2023 “State of the Air” report released by the American Lung Association bills Garrett County as one of the nation’s cleanest when it comes to ozone pollution.
Garrett County was the only county in the state with an “‘A” grade for its zero days high in ozone smog, continuing for its sixth consecutive year. Nationally, nearly 120 million people, or more than 1 in 3, in the U.S. live in counties that had unhealthy levels for some of the most harmful and widespread types of air pollution — ozone or particle pollution.

Market Square Coffee and Ice-cream shop Opens
Located next to Deep Creeks local Shop n’ Save, Market Square Coffee and Ice-cream has opened and is offering many different options for your morning and afternoon cravings alike. The menu features hot and cold coffee options, as well as specialty drinks such as matcha and teas. The store also offers fresh donut treats in the mornings. In the afternoon you can try their many icecream flavors, sundaes, and milkshakes. Open 6am-8pm weekdays, hours may vary on holidays.

Growing communities in Deep Creek Lake

Tesla chargers along deep creek drive
There’s a new view along deep creek drive! Locals and tourists alike will be able to use the new Tesla charging station behind Pine Lodge Steakhouse. Eight stations for the smart cars along with adapters will be available in the coming weeks.

Northern Lights at Deep Creek Lake
The Northern Lights were viewed at Deep Creek Lake in the early hours of April 24th, 2023. Sarah Myers, the editor and owner of the Deep Creek Times caught this stunning panoramic photograph of the lights on the overlook on Maryland route 135.
